Formaldehyde is the bonding agent used to bind wood chips together to produce chipboard. The E1 rating indicates that materials do not emit more than the 0.1 ppm limit value for the concentration of formaldehyde in equilibrium. All of the derived timber products used in Weiss raised floor systems to comply with the requirements for emission class E1 or better.
